Formal requirements
- The text of the submission must be drafted in Word and saved in doc or docx format. Do not use PDF formats.
- Use A4 size paper, standard Normal style, 12-point Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm margins.
- Do not use word divisions, neither by hand nor automatic.
- Also, do not use page numbering or any headers or footers.
- Within paragraphs, the text is to be written continuously; the Enter key is used only to separate paragraphs.
- No styles should be used, only plain text. Use of automatic text formatting options in Word is not recommended.
- Keeping to a single font style, bold and italics could be used where appropriate.
- References must be inserted automatically via the References tab.
- A reference is considered an individual sentence, so it must start with an upper-case letter and end with a full stop. It should be inserted always after a comma or a full stop.
- Footnote superscripts should not have spaces before them and should not be followed by a closing parenthesis.
- Always insert a space after a comma or a full stop.
- Differentiate between a hyphen (-) and a dash (–). For ranges of years, dates, and pages, use only a dash without spaces (e.g. 1789–1795, 05–10 October, pp. 3–5). Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + 0150. Separate the “%” sign from the number with a space.
- If needed, please clearly mark the picture’s location in the text (insert “Picture nr. 1” in the text in the appropriate place) and add their source (for photographs, the name of the author and the year, if known, or the institution who made the copy).
- Please, strictly follow the citation practices of the journal.
- Please take care to maintain consistency in the text (uniform usage of names and titles), use the established spelling for foreign place names in the language you use, and include the name in the original language in parentheses upon first reference.
- Please do not use abbreviations; where necessary, spell them out upon first use.
In addition to the text of the paper itself, authors should include:
- An abstract of about 1 000 characters, which covers the topics of the article.
- A résumé, concise overview of the article’s themes covering the most important points and conclusions, which would serve as a basis for a résumé in either Czech or English.
- Five key words covering the main themes of the article.
- Illustrative image to be used in the header of the article. If you already have some pictures for the article, you can use one of them. Images freely downloaded from the internet cannot be accepted for publication.
- Image attachments are accepted in digital form with sufficient resolution (at least 300 dpi) in one of the common formats (tif, jpg) in separate files. The pictures should be uncropped, unedited and named accordingly.
- List of images. For each picture, the source must be clearly identified. Include the author and/or the institution that provided the image and the year. The authors are responsible for obtaining copyright and reproduction rights to the attached illustrations and photos.
- The author of any contribution is kindly asked to provide following information for publishing the article: name, surname, degrees obtained, workplace and e-mail and for the Executive Editors Office also a correspondence address.
